Been driving this old thing the last couple of months. Did ball joints, tie rods and u-joints recently. 232,+ miles
I’m not an expert in motors, but beings the 2.7 is only a 4 liter, I don’t think it has the cylinder deactivation deal, which my current truck has and that leads to additional issues I’d like to avoid.I am not too familiar with the 2.7 TurboTax motor. I am not a fan of any motor that has the fuel management system that deactivates cylinders. Many people have never had issues with them. Others have washed cylinders out. If I could delete the auto stop/start BS I would as well.
They say it has a heavier duty block and cylinders to take the extra stress of heavier towing and such.
With all that said I am a big fan of the 3.0l Duramax in the 1500s. Mine is a 2020. Bought new and have had minimal issues. Had a check engine due to a software issue. Mine is also included in the transmission valve recall. I have not had any issues with the transmission but it will need replaced eventually. Will be covered as part of the recall.
That is why I tagged him. Sounds like the baby D is what you are looking for.
I thought it was funny
