Guess the gun season harvest

Since its just around the corner, let the prognosticators fire away.

I think this is going to be one of the better gun seasons in years. The elimination of the bonus gun will force more hunters into the woods during the 7 day gun season and a lack luster rut left bowhunters scratching their heads...here comes the orange army:smiley_coolpeace:

A better question is when will odnr admit they have fugged up and bring the kill limits back down. These limits are the highest its ever been and I would bet it will be a five low even with more tags available. So what's that say about our herd.:smiley_chinrub:

2009 - 2010 Youth Weekend = 9,269
2010 - 2011 Youth Weekend = 8,627
2011 - 2012 Youth Weekend = 8,867
2012 - 2013 Youth Weekend = 9,178
2013 - 2014 Youth Weekend = 6,645

Although the past 4 youth seasons were relatively flat. The bottom fell out this year with about a 26% drop against the average of the past 4 seasons.

But it was kinda cold, and there was wind blowing, and there's still a lot of corn up, and the acorn crop was not as good, , and squirrel counts are down through their 7 years cyclical trend, and the past weekend fell on a weekend which makes it difficult for some people to get out, and Saturday was senior day at the Horseshoe, and the Browns / Steelers game was played Sunday, and it's been determined that woodchucks don't actually chuck any of the wood since they cannot even possibly chuck wood in the first place.

With less deer in some areas of the state, cold weather for next week, and no bonus days I'm going to say less for 2013. Saturday during Youth Season in 5 hrs. seen no deer. Last year had 7 does in my woods in 4 hrs. But the pipeline construction has changed the deer movement here. No crops on the surrounding farms except a small bean field about 500 yds. away.

80,000 or less.

I should have read your post before posting mine. You covered all the bases. But I really don't see how a football game could keep a self respecting hunter out of the cold weather to hunt deer. LOL.

I think you missed his sarcasm Frank.

Well done Sean! Pretty funny stuff!
