If you could go back..

Update: I'm going in tommorow for an interview with southeast beverage company which is a beer distributing company. I will be riding in the trucks and helping deliver to businesses and bars and such assuming I get the job. I'm pretty excited about the opportunity as it could lead into a full time job. But if it falls through ill be going to hocking and see where thay leads.

Thanks curran. The interview went really well. He will call me back later this evening to let ne know for sure but I'd say Ill get it. I'm pretty pumped!

We'' he called me back a few hours after I left and I got it! Starting tuesday the 22nd I'll be working at
Southeast Ohio Beverage Company. My hours will be 4 am to anywhere from 3 to 6 pm. Man am I happy.

You'll b pretty much workin in my back yard. During the summer/early fall the field behind that place is fun to watch as the deer filter out. I'm sure it won't take you long to notice. Good luck with the new job!

My dad works at the UPS right beside there TOO, and we always see deer out there. I didnt know you lived that close Gordo..you're only like 7 miles from my house.

I'm glad for you Jake. A friend of mine delivers. He made several contacts to Turtle fish and hunt with some store owners and bar keepers. Just to let you know one of the perks. Good Luck With The New Job!

Good for you Jake! Where does this leave the lawn business? Diablo running the show now? You aren't going to have much time if you are cranking out 12-16hr days. Congrats bubba@!

Well we'll definitly keep most/some yards. But we'll have to cut back some, which is unfortunate but I knew we would have to eventually.

One of the best things I think a business owner can do is say "No." Every now and then you need to go through your clients list. Pick out the ones you have trouble collecting, get rid of them. Have one or two customers "out there"? You know the account where you have 10-15min of drive time each way with nothing in between? Nix them. Know your margins. Have an account that takes an hour and you only get $x but you really need $x+$10? Raise them $10. If they stay with you, keep them. Don't be afraid to drop them. If you cannot be profitable on an account, you are wasting your time. Just a few things to think about. Now, don't get me wrong here. If the account that is "out there" makes you money, then don't throw it away. However, if that account only makes your hourly average you strive for and you have 10-15min drive time unaccounted for, then drop them. Good luck Moundy!
