JB's Trail Cam Pics - 2011

Sweet good luck bud.... The only reason I asked was bc I have a plot just like this that had 3 decent bucks, 1 was a shooter for sure showing up and then I pulled the card two days ago and didnt have a single buck on it! Now i know they are moving to bean fields this time of year and the pattern changes alot, so I was glassing the other day and low and behold one of the bucks was 1/4 mile away in a bean field. Going in about a hour to hang a cam on him, he was mid to low 30's last year as a 8pt and even bigger this year. Good luck on the new cam location

That's about the only thing I can figure, too. Ag fields are few and far between near this property, so my guess is that the big boys bachelored up and are feeding somewhere else. They did the same thing last year, but by the end of August I found them hammering an apple tree on an adjacent property. For now I'm just gonna have to keep the faith that they're still around and continue with my preparations for the fall.

This buck is a familiar one... He's got great potential, but I don't think he's gonna make the hitlist this fall.

Really nice brow tines on him...

If there was such a thing as a Slunger Spike, this guy would be it...

Some new pics from the same drainage area.

This 2 year old has some potential...

Now this yearling could be a dandy in a few years... 8 points and 3" brow tines, already!!! I'm naming him Poe, because he's got SERIOUS potential.

Why wait, POP her now! LOL. Good pics Jim, thanks for sharing! Looks like you have a couple bucks with potential.

Lol... She's gotta be sooooooooo tasty! Those backstraps would probably peel right out with just my fingers!

Definitely a bunch of young bucks running around... But the bigguns have avoided my cams all summer it seems. This weekend I went to set up the Spypoint over my prime inventory spot, a big apple tree, and found that it's not producing a single apple this year. I'm guessing the big boys are holed up somewhere else for the time being, closer to a prime food source. They'll be back, though. (At least, I hope :smiley_baby:)

This camera has been set up in this spot for quite some time, now. I moved it to another area of the property yesterday, but I have a feeling this spot is going to be a good one for hunting season. It's located in a drainage that separates to halves of the property, and from the pics I've gotten over the past couple months there is a lot of traffic through there. I'm planning on building a natural ground blind, just downslope and south of this trail. It'll be reserved for a N or NW wind only, but I don't know for sure how the wind is going flow through that drainage. The best part is, the drainage runs all the way down the hill to the house.... It'll be a piece of cake to slip in there in the mornings, walking right up the drainage the whole way.
