Thanks for the support fellas. I feel good about what kind of season I will have. This Missouri trip has really been food for the soul!

I wish you the best of luck this season, Jesse! It makes no difference the size or age. What makes a deer "great" is the experience. I think you and your family will encounter some "great" deer this season, they may even have big antlers.

Took the back way to the farm last night and saw that about half the 100 acres of corn that borders us is down. This will hurt my hunting as it helps the guys who lease that farm. The deer are now forced to travel is through some great funnels on that farm and it lets those guys cut the deer off before they reach us, ah la Daryl Dawkins last year. In addition to that, I shared a pic of Wilson and they all believe he is 4 and is on their hit list. I think he's 3 and wouldn't mind seeing him get another year. Not saying I'd have passed, but I sure won't now. This was taken while I was in the stand 25 yards away last year. He's 2.5 here IMO...

I think you are correct in your age estimation. Hope he makes it, or at least makes it to your tree!

They haven't checked cams for a while, but said they would. The guy I text back and forth with is a good dude, so I have no reason to believe they won't.

I've been on the sidelines since my fubar on opening day. Spent some time licking my wounds, then a little time tweaking the bow. I accepted "good enough" going in to opening day and while that was sufficient, I couldn't help but think I could do better. Here's a field point, a G5 Montec and a Slick Trick Mag at 30 yards after some walk back tuning and lots of work on my grip.
