Its a wide range out there bud. I have a 12 ft field and stream and my wife has a 9ft perception. Both pretty stable and fairly light. You have to find that balance between light enough to maneuver and strong enough to hold up. Like cars man they all make good ones and not so good ones. Good luck on your search.
You’re right about them being like cars. Whatever one someone has, is what they suggest.

Yea mine are solid kayaks but im not saying i would buy them again. I can't truly suggest one untill have tried out several of them. Mine works for me but the next guy might say it ain'g worth a cuss. Some of the big dealers have places you can try them out for what its worth.

We have 2 of the Pelican Catch 120 sit on tops. So far so good. They are very comfortable for fishing. So much so that I am selling my Colorado XT's pontoons that are very comfortable. Are you using these on rivers or ponds?

Skye even likes going.

Likely both. I seen your thread and thought about something like that for the wife and I.

Dave... My son has one on his birthday list also... Well since he's an adult he actually said it half jokingly... But Dad will suprise him and buy him one... So let us know what you discover in your quest for one...

Hurry up and get em so you can bring em down here and fish. I bet your kids would love to raise some hell on the lease, if not, we can.

Expo was a bust for me on this subject. Started way out of my price range and they only had one brand.

I have a lead on a couple of 8’ers from Craigslist. A few stores also have pretty good sales on them. I need to pull the trigger on this this weekend. So any last minute thoughts would be great.

It would be even better if one of you or someone you knew was looking to upgrade and wanted to sell the old one...or two...or six. Lol

If buying used remember you are gonna need papers on them to get them registered if used on public waters. So just remember to ask before traveling to see if you're wasting your time. I'm not too familiar with the process cause I don't use my canoe on public waters.

Good looking out, but I’m just going to give him a price to stay under this weekend if I don’t find a “have to buy” price before that.
