Casted a quick limit this morning in Lorain. We were fooled by the weather again with the wind. Small craft advisory, but we sent it. I actually got a taste of operating an 18 footer in a pretty good Erie chop. We turned around at first light and let her calm down. My aunt was pissed, but she was a trooper.

We launched out of Catawba Island today and I picked up a limit of walleye hillbilly trolling (that means not using line counter or any fancy equipment). We were east of Kelly's Island and South East. All were about 17 inchers with one 20 incher. My first time on the lake this year. Last 4 times I've been out, I have gotten my limit. Great time to be alive to Walleye Fish!

One would think that initially.. Until you add up the costs associated with owning a boat to go catch them yourself.

Maybe, but it is so much better than buying your dinner from a store. Plus, I am not sure if I am more at home in the woods or on the water. I have had a number of boats in my lifetime, actually have 2 now LOL and can't imagine not having my own boat.

Smallmouth bite was non existent this past weekend around the same spot we were at when we did pretty well. Fish transitioning to deeper water?
