I did not know this. Makes sense however as we took an oath to defend the constitution of America against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Key statements there it says Constitution not government. And includes the word domestic enemies.
 
Drugs are illegal, look how easy they are to get. The bottom line is bad guys will always find ways to have a gun, even if they are illegal. Thinking banning firearms will stop mass shootings from bappening is the single dumbest idea ive heard. Ask most of ohio how heroin being illegal is helping with it not being available to people. The blackmarket is huge. Guns from mexico and all over are and will always be available to criminals whenever they want, bottom line. Getting rid of or altering the 2nd amendment is the dumbest idea ive ever heard of.
 
If we divided the nation in half and had those who with guns on one side be its own country and the ones without guns on the otherside with their own country, how long do you think the one without would last. Nk, china, ect would move in at lightening speed.

You are correct. The second amendment gives us the right to bear arms. It gives us the ability to protect ourselves against tyranny. We can form militias as needed. If the government is given the ability to limit us then they are given the ability to limit our capabilities to protect ourselves against tyranny. Granted I believe there are people that do not have the mental capacity to own firearms.

Here is how I see it: I have life insurance I never want to use. I do carry a pistol daily I hope I never need to use. It would be my desire to only use my AR for coyote hunting and target shooting. I hope this is all I ever need to use it for. Either way, it is my right to own it. I own it and use it responsibly. Don't tell me I cannot have it because one whack job out of 150 million people in this nation went berserk.
