We had something like this local a couple guys won a squirrel tournament.
The very next year the squirrels were being donated to a wild game supper.
The same 2 fellows came in and won the tournament again which was a $400 cash prize. When the squirrels were cleaned water gushed out of all of them. They were told don't come back.

Like wtf is the point of that? For $400? Bragging rights? It would never sit right with me, same with poaching deer, especially big bucks. Hang it on your wall then make up some BS story to sound cool?? What’s the point!? @giles is right, people suck

I don't weigh fish any more... Just measure length, and use a chart.... Most animals follow a profile, which is on the chart.... Deer Included.

The dude repeating "all these years" makes you wonder exactly how long these dudes git away with it. How many true anglers they have robbed and pushed away.
They were discussing that in a group on FB. It sucks that they likely won’t be able to prove it in prior tournaments.

Thing is, now everything they've done up too this point is tainted. Even if they had legitimate wins, it’ll all be for not…
Everything should be scrubbed with their name associated with. I know one of their sponsors. I can guarantee they’re distancing themselves as far away from this as possible.
Hopefully they give them the max punishment and fine them heavily.

Yep. Not sure what the rules for fraud is in Ohio. Even though this likely isn't the first time they cheated, they will likely only get them on this one charge.

Take the boats, trucks, everything. This has been exposed nation wide and they need to be the example of why you don't do this.
Like everyone I think this is complete bullshit and they should never fish again in tournaments. But I'm not sure if there is anything there for them to loose there equipment. Look at all the scandals in other sports where they get banned for a few games and thats it. Only thing I can see is the odnr fining them for putting lead in the fish but I'm not real sure where that's gonna fall under any fish and wildlife laws.

The local DA has the authority too put it in front of a grand jury and let them either indict or not.

Maybe I'm stretching it with that. Because they could argue that is what a taxidermist is doing. If there isn't a law for this, I'd say they will make one after this. Because it's a missed opportunity. I'm sure they will find something though. DNR can make up some wild shit to get what they want.

As a fisherman from Florida that has fished dozens and dozens of tournaments I think this will get attention for quite a while but I think all the things suggested above in the comments won’t happen. Idk anything about this walleye tournament but the worst thing to come from these guys will more then likely be loss of sponsorship and banning from this tournament. Stuff like this happens all too often and ever since this mainstream media push has happened it has practically ruined most outdoor sports. Nobody has pride anymore and it’s all about dollar signs and whoever has the nicest stuff! I say, hang these fuckers!! Let them know it all over the country! But I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I don't see much that the ODNR could do as the fraud would be a police thing. Especially from the video the fish were dead so it wasn't like they were being released. If released then they would.

The bigger thing with the ODNR I think would be the fillets that were stuffed in the fish. Not sure what the limits are but that could be a possibility. ODNR also has regulation about cutting of fillets but been a while since I read that one.
