Just got settled in, walked the field edge on the way in and bumped two small bucks then I saw a flock of turkey coming into the cut soybeans. Might be a good sit!

Farmer picking corn to my west. I could have hunted 20yds off field edge. I chose a stand 100-200yds east of them on the other side of a nice funnel. Hoping the deer push east and then exit woods south tonight to avoid equipment. I have a camera along that edge though. If I chose poorly and the deer exit west of me. . . I'll know it when I pull the card and be able to kick myself the rest of the season.

I've been in the stand since 3 and it's been action packed since. I've seen 3 bucks and 6 does/fawns around me. One buck was grunting and chasing a doe. One was a nice 8 that has lost an eye already, never came close enough for a shot. The rest of the evening should be good. Good luck everyone.

Half ass hunt for me but still made it out to the back 8 around 5:30. Saw one big ole doe as soon as I stepped in the woods. She was hammering down some apples off the tree.

Spot was shredded with scrapes.

Planning on hunting my dads honey hole spot in the morning.

Time to crank it up

Saw the 2 biggest bucks I have on my cams tonight. One was chasing a doe and the other one was just hitting a scrape about 5 times. Had one at 35 yards but had no shot. Had a great hunt tonight.

So proud of my young son tonight… He became a hunter. Sat for a long time and didn’t see a thing. Right before dark a really nice 2 1/2 year-old 8 point came in at 20 yards. Of course it came in right behind a tree. It popped out long enough for a quick shot but my son didn’t feel comfortable. He said dad I just can’t do it it’s not a good shot. He shed a few tears after it walked away, but I can’t tell you how proud I am of him. What a great night!
