My bucks outback are sparring a bit and tracking closer to shooting time, both am and pm. Just going to wait a bit for cooler weather and the testosterone to build up.

Had 9 deer in the field at the same time tonight... a big one came out right at dark... all the fun none of the mess ha

Saw a flock of turkeys and a few doe. This trip was more of a recon trip than anything else. Think I have a good idea and will be back tomorrow.

I wound up seeing 25 or so wood ducks and a beaver. Mason laid eyes on 6 and said it sounded like there were 20 in the standing corn. One of these days I'm going to kick him out of my good stands.
Got on stand @4:15 and at 4:28 heard a horrendous crash about a 1/2 mile from where I was sitting.... Few minutes later here come the sirens... Sounded bad and will find out in the morning about it.... They had diverted traffic down the road I was hunting on, there’s a low rail road trestle (11’10”) and one of the diverted vehicle was a pickup with a slide in camper.... He wasn’t aware of the low trestle but after going under it he was.... Peeled everything off of the roof.... Didn’t sound as bad as the wreck earlier but sounded expensive....
Well, after all of this and sirens I figured the deer wouldn’t come out until after dark.... 6:15 the doe came out and they didn’t stop until after dark.... 8 total and not an antler amongst them.... Oh well, had 3within 30yards but none big enough to shoot, so the hunt goes on for a nanny doe or a shooter buck, and enjoy my surroundings in between accidents that is....

Anyone else just ever not have the motivation to go out? I feel like I’m stuck in a rut mentally with hunting and really don’t have the motivation to go out. I mean I do work 6 days a week and have 3 classes 8-12 Monday- Thursday and 3 online classes but still I am usually pumped for season and this year I don’t have a real desire to go out like I did previous years. I’m going to try and go out for the first sit of the year tomorrow night if the wind is right though.
Wife is hosting a Thirty-One party tonight, so I took K to the blind I have behind my parent's place for just the reason. 100 yards from the edge of the yard and we're in no danger of shooting anything, but we're having fun! Brought cheese and hot pepper venison sausage for our dinner. 
Going kinda the same thing right now . I lost my permission to hunt since the landowners grandkids are old enough to hunt there now and only have like a 2 acre spot to hunt that is wooded the rest is open grass fields and haven't really got any pics of deer even with running a feeder and minerals

Those are the moments to remember! Enjoy it! Can’t wait to have these moments when I become a Dad later on in life.
