Live From the Stand 2017.

Of course it came in right behind a tree. It popped out long enough for a quick shot but my son didn’t feel comfortable. He said dad I just can’t do it it’s not a good shot. He shed a few tears after it walked away, but I can’t tell you how proud I am of him. What a great night!

I’m out this morning. About 40 degrees here and it rained last night so hopefully I’ll catch a buck cruising to freshen up a scrape I’m hunting over. No deer yet but how things have been looking on the camera lately I don’t expect to see much for another week or so.
 
Out early. 31 degrees. Had a little 4 pt come to base of stand and saw 3 others off in woods. Peaceful sit.
 
Had 2 does just come in. I have a blind right over the plot then a stand about 50 yards behind the plot on a trail that bucks like to travel on and is a popular spot for scrapes. Well I chose the stand today because of the rain and thinking bucks will be cruising and sure enough those 2 does come right into the plot on the other trail leading in just out of reach. Still super excited to finally see something from the stand this year. Now just for a buck to come in.
 
Just had a smaller buck come chasing in behind them. Something spooked him and he stopped dead in his tracks and headed the other direction. I think he might have gotten downwind of me. Wind is swirling a bit here

Thanks for the kind words guys… It’s so awesome to have a community of fellow brother hunters to be able to share my son’s hunt with. For the record lots of action of doe and fawns walking around this morning before sunrise but it slowed down quite a bit as sun came up. Not as cold as predicted up here (no frost)

Looking at your profile, I’m not sure what’s kept you from sharing. Share away, that’s what makes this place so great!
 
Ended up seeing two does about 40 yards away. They walked by and then came back moving a little quicker 5 minutes later. Nice morning out and felt good seeing some deer.

It’s always nice getting out and finally seeing some deer. This was my 4th sit of the year and the first time I have seen deer was this morning.

Been a lurker for many years cause you all are freakin hilarious and insightful. Will start sharing...hopefully soon as son is pumped to get out again!
