I went back out to The Oak at 3p & didn't see anything. I have a cam facing towards that spot & there is a ton of buck activity at night . MY blind for that spot is almost 10 yrds behind the buck.

Keep your distance little fella ....

I’ll be hunting all day tomorrow. Plan on trying out the new stand until noon or so then going home for something to eat and I’ll take my daughter to the blind around 3. We’re supposed to get up to an inch of snow tonight

I've been back out since shortly after the rain stopped @1:00 pm.

Wind changed to the opposite direction from this morning, now from the West with increased intensity.

I got settled in @1:30 and at the moment, my neighbor's dog just started barking, which is a good indication that deer may be on the move, either towards or away from me.

They live near the creek 'TOO' and their dog has yet to fail me when he starts barking.

Anyhow, good luck 'TOO' Hunters!

The 'GOOD': I realize now that I can hunt this particular setup that's above the deer bedding area with both a Northeast & a West Southwest wind

The 'BAD': No buck showed up again today or at least one that I could tell. :(

I did however have five deer in the immediate area that I did see within the Honeysuckles and I believe their were more that I couldn't see, including a buck I do believe.

Much like yesterday, @4:30 a couple of antlerless deer popped up out of their beds to my Northeast, approximately 30 yards away.

One of them kept looking back as if something pushed them out of their beds, perhaps a buck maybe.

I mentioned earlier that an eight point walked right by my stand just before I arrived earlier this morning and my TC captured him.

Most likely, it was him doing all the pushing. Anyhow, he's not a shooter in my book.

So the first two were up @4:30 and acted really skittish the entire time until quitting time and never made it out into the field behind me basically, except for one I think was headed there, but I spooked her away instead.

I got the 'LOOK'

My TC captured her 'TOO'. Shit, I still need to tun back the clock on it. Oh-well.

The more mature deer that I seen @5:30 were down at the creek bottom heading North slowly.

The last deer that I did see strutted like it might have been a buck, but I didn't get to see the head portion, just the front shoulders down to the ass.

Still no major rut action going on yet though.

For the past three seasons, the full rut has kicked off either on the 12th or 13th in my area. I expect this season to be no different'.

Until then, I'll keep a close tab on the ladies, just like I have been.

It's gonna be bitter cold & windy tomorrow fellas, so be prepared for it!

Have a great Friday evening 'TOO"ville!

I'll be back at it once again tomorrow morning :)

I'm sick. Giant 10 point came from behind me going right to left at 50 yards. He was two yards away from Crossing into the woods I had to take a shot and shot low. It happened so fast hindsight is always 20/20 I maybe could have been a little more patient before the shot. The worst part is I couldn't find the arrow. I'm 99% sure it was a clean miss. No hair no blood. He looked spooked and took off in a straight line. I'm sure the arrow is buried. Happened so fast and rainy. I'm sick man.

Will be out in the wind tomorrow morning but sounds like it's going to be a cold one. Buddy takes November 9th 10th and 11th off every year to hunt. Said he got soaked this morning so headed home to dry his clothes then headed back out. At 4:30 this buck caught the trails end 307 scent he had hanging on a rag. Said he came right to him licking his nose as he walked. Shot him at 12 yards. Luckily we only had to drag it about 15 yards to the edge of the woods.

I said i was gonna switch it up. I’m now thinking for each beer I drink I should see a deer. Tommrow is going to be a great day! 🤣🤣

Gonna have the best sit of the year!

Seriously tho I’m thinking from 9 am till noon is going to be the best time of the day. I’ll be sitting at 6 am tho, ,waiting for daylight.
Good luck TOO...

Tonight was a great night. Had 13 total come in, 9 does, 4 bucks. All with in 25 yards and I tried to draw but was got covered in deer too quickly and had 9 deer feeding at once, closest being less then 5 yards away from me down wind, thankfully they didn’t spook and hung out. 2 younger bucks came in first chasing does and grunting putting on a great show. Then 2, 2 1/2 year olds came in and didn’t show too much interest in the does as much as trying to display dominance to the other bucks. Overall this was the best sit I have ever had and I didn’t even shoot anything.

I’m deciding, myself at this moment what I’m going to do. Personally, if I only got to have sex one month of a year, I would be out running regardless of the wind. 🤔

Not sure need some more coffee to kick my stupid in to gear. See what happens. I’ll be back in a bit with an update... Good luck for those who have already decided to go. I also agree with those who choose not go.
