Thanks guys for all the congrats. It was an amazing night. We only had a half hour and I was planning on just sitting and enjoying my time with my son. But then a doe came flying in with a buck behind her. She started our way then veered off. He continued towards us but then started to follow the doe. I voice grunted which stopped him (behind a tree of course), and he wouldn’t move. My son decided to voice grunt, which admittedly miffed me at first. Apparently if confused the buck. He stepped out at 35 yards to see what the noise was. He then looked like he was going to head to where the doe went so I told my son to take a shot if he was ready. God definitely blessed his arrow… Right through the heart. Deer ran 30 yards and collapsed. Check out the girth! View attachment 67915View attachment 67916

Well, its been raining here and it's picking up.

Not sure how much more I'll be able to put up with this cold rainy shit even though I'm under the umbrella staying fairly dry.

It's the real wet & cold air that gets 'TOO' me.

Soon my old bones will be telling me to head back to the shop where it's nice & warm by the woodstove,,, Dummy!

It's plenty dry there 'TOO'!!

Haven't seen a thing as of yet, however I believe I have a 'F'ed up looking eight point that's bedded near by.

I pulled the SD card from my TC before I climbed into the stand and it shows that he walked by earlier this morning just before I got here.

This is a huge bedding area that I'm over so I'll hang as long as I can stand it.

Good luck to all you others that out this morning!

I hear ya about the cold wet getting in your bones.

It gets worse every year. I told my wife last night that I wasn't to sure how many more seasons I've got being able to sit in the cold for hours at a time. She rolled her eyes and said "yeah right"... she has had a broken bone in her foot and complains about it every time it rains or snows. I've had broken ribs, fingers, wrist, leg, and an ankle. Not to mention the bad ligaments in my knees and a rotator in my shoulder.

Right now it's cold and wet outside, if I want home with a sick kid I would be in the woods. But I almost have to admit, I'm glad I'm in here nice and warm and dry.

This rain isn't going to let up anytime soon per radar. I spied a doe cutting thru the thicket earlier. Coffee is catching up with me & I had to pee. I figured I'd call it quits for now & when I stood up in the blind , then looked out the window further, that doe was on the outside looking my way at 5 yrds. Lol I've had all these deer in my lap. Needless to say, that took the urge to pee out of me. She came up to my side, into a shooting lane looking at me but nothing was with her.

@Kevin. When I had deer sneaking in on me. I cut my bino and phone time shorter (per session) so to keep a better eye on my surroundings. I started seeing more deer before they seen me.

I have as well, I’m having a hard time hearing them like I used too so I have to scan a lot more.

Okay, that's it!

I had enough!!

I got down @10 & hiked my ass back to the shop after not seeing a thing at all this morning.

Says it's suppose to rain solid for the next two hours here, then clouds for the rest of the day.

In the mean time, I'll be warming up & drying out, get me some breakfast, then I'll try to be back out right after the rain quits at the same spot since I left my umbrella there to keep my seat nice and dry.

Hopefully by that time the deer will wanta get up and move around a little.

I guess well wait and see...

Well, slept in the AM. It was glorious. Now just trying to get my cousin into a good stand. Deer movement here on the farm is bad to say the least. Lots of things going against us this year. Happens I guess. I'll be out before my sons birthday tomorrow AM in the Arctic wind and then maybe all day long on Sunday. Good luck to the 3 guys here who haven't killed a buck! Lmao
