Well,,

It's Friday, the day before 'Bonus Gun Weekend' and it totally feels like early Spring.

I'm back in my 'Eastern Stand' at the moment thinking I'd get somewhat of an idea of what it might be like to hunt this weekend with the gun. I'm kinda thinking, NOT GOOD cause I haven't seen a thing yet.

I packed up my trailcam that I had sitting out here for about ten days and the deer activity is virtually nonexistent the past few days at this setup.

The last deer captured here was three days ago around 7:00 p.m.

I do have however have tons of coyote activity at all my locations.

This one was 1of 2 from last night at this location.

Obviously I was hoping to be tagged out by now so I could be more focused on the yotes, but that's not how the cooky crumbled for me this year.

Regardless, I'll be hunting those yotes soon enough, you can bet on that.

I'm completely looking forward to it!

Good luck to whomever is hunting today!!

I got down from my stand @9:30 and took the long way home with an arrow nocked ready to 'Rock-n-Roll'.

Thought I'd share some of my beautiful Friday morning with all of you.

I got home @11:00 and the only wild game that I seen were squirrels & a pheasant (rooster) that popped up out of the CRP 10' feet from me.

I packed up a few more trail cameras.

I tried to find any significant fresh deer signs along the way.

None really to speak of.

If it remains this nice out for the remainder of the day, I'll definitely try to get back out for an evening hunt.

I think this warmer weather has put a damper on the deer activity during daylight.

Hasn't rained yet, although I brought my umbrella just in case.

Actually, if I'm going to do any gun hunting tomorrow with the weather that's forecasted for it, I intended on setting up my umbrella before I leave here anyway.

It's 54* & virtually no East wind to speak of at the moment.

Man! It's warm for mid December!!

We'll see what happens here shortly...

Found one! Credit to Giles for the arrow in the tree idea. Deer were coming to this spot daily but I put corn down strategically to get them in a certain spot because of how small the property is. Had a nice big tree for a backstop.

Good sized button buck and an 8 yard shot on the ground hiding under a swing set 30 yards behind thier house at the edge of the woods. The arrow was covered in blood but it didn’t show up with the flash in the dark.

That was my last deer for the year so now the countdown begins.

Good deal, glad it worked out! At 8 yards, hard telling where it would’ve ended up otherwise😂

What's for breakfast Joel?

Fresh back-straps??

Heck of a shot & he'll definitely be good eaten.

Congratulations (y)
