I sat for the last hour out here behind the house with my recurve. Rain is coming down pretty steady now. No deer seen...

Took my son out tonight. Saw a good number of deer . Had a group of 5 does come too the cornpile in front of the blind . Seen a couple of small bucks but they didn't offer him any shots . Busy the rest of this weekend so we will try again next weekend for him .

Not sure when I'll get back out. Saw 3 including a borderline shooter. Next year if he is the same size he won't get a pass. Got a pass tonight because I had him pass at 40yds with little notice. Steady light rain made it tough to hear. Lots of green leaves made visibility tough.

Settled in. Elected to forego this climber since both trees I'd considered were maples. With the rain last night, I didn't feel like hugging a wet tree for 25', especially one with slick bark. My platform blind is best for this wind anyways. Traditional scrape at 20 along a nice little pinch in the creek. Lots of bedding and cut corn to the north. Decent bedding to the west and south, with some scattered white oaks along the fenceline 100 yards W of me. Low impact, high reward type of spot. Sitting until 10:30, then bailing for K's soccer game.

Good luck to everyone that gets out today.
