Read a lot today online about not hunting in the east wind and the lack of success hunting over cut beans. I decided to head out and hunt over cut beans in the east wind (my only option tonight). At 6:40 tonight three doe came out, then two more, then two more… Then a nice 130 class buck stepped out. Then right at absolute dark a 140 to 150 class stepped out. Everything was too far away… You know the whole story about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But it was beautiful to watch. I tried to take pics for y’all but it was too far away and too dark

I've seen a big buck run a smaller one off... I've seen a small buck get bowed up and think hes tough, until one crack from the big boy sends him packing... but until tonight, ive never seen 2 bucks actually throw down. It was awesome!

I sat in the rain until I was so cold and wet I couldn't take it anymore and headed back to the truck. After I had my stuff put away and was back in dry clothes, I sat in the truck texting with redcloud (who was smart enough to stay at the house in this weather) and watched 4 bucks enter a cut bean field heading down toward where I was sitting. As I watched, from about 500 to 600 yards away, I realized that the 2 bigger ones were posturing and squaring off. At first I thought they were just sparring, but it didnt take long to realize they were not playing! At one point the smaller of the 2 had the bigger one on the ground. I looked down at my phone to send a text and when I looked back up, the bigger one was still in the field but the other one was gone. I have no idea what happened but that big fucker showed who was boss.

It lasted maybe 3 or 4 minutes but it was super cool to watch. To bad I pussed out from the rain and climbed down. If i hadn't, i would have seen it from 50 yards instead of 500 and possibly got a shot at one of them.
When I got to the woods this afternoon, I set up a few mock scrapes and put some "active scrape" lure in a few established ones. Hopefully that puts the big daddy in front of me sometime in the next week or so.

Funny how as of yesterday, adam wasn't interested in hunting tomorrow because of the rain. Well after hearing about this, hes interested now! Lol. I didnt intend to go out tomorrow either, but now I might just go

Wind and rain here. Was out for nine hours yesterday and only seen a doe with two fawns. I can handle the rain but hate the wind lol
