Hunting with Dad this afternoon. All settled into the blind. Overlooking wooded ravine between hay fields. Logging clear cut to our west.
Niece shot a nice 8 this morning, she walked up on it bedded down. Perfect heart shot, it never got up. View attachment 68882

Hunted dark to dark in blind at the mouth of two big hollars coming together and got skunked. Back at it there tomorrow.

What a grinder today... I'll share the details later. Ended up putting some meat down. It's been a long long time since ive made it to gun season without putting a doe in the freezer first. Humbling year for me, but still having fun. Cheers to gun season boys!

Lake effect only dumped 1-2” last night but the wind is washing/backwashing up an down the woods like a scrub brush.
