Great season ender. I knew I was going to spook a bunch of deer tonight but it's unavoidable here with no cover to walk in. Have a good example of the late season struggle....
Cold tonight.
deer bed on a raised hill. My truck in the background. I assume these are allaround this woods on the edges.
Hunting public pointing with a twist of too where that bed was.
beautiful evening. I've been seeing deer on all sides of this lot every evening. Pulled in at 4pm scanned with binos. I could see a deer on the south end of this woods just off the end. While walking in I spot a deer feeding inside the woods with some laying around it. I got 100 yrds out and see different deer bounding back in. That was 5 scene Right on the edgeS. After a spill sitting next to some pushed into a pile, cut/Burnt logs a doe and fawn come walking at 55yrds out in front of me as the sun was getting low. I was busy watching them out scraping under the patch of huge oaks not thinking any deer would come from my somewhat wind blown side after jumping so many. I happen to turn my head to see a FAT ASS spike coming to me. I was set up for the does. he got to 35 yrds put his nose in the air and gracefully bound back in the woods stopping from time to time. The doe and fawn come back to investigate back in through alittle thicker stuff see me at 40 come in to 30 yrds to get a close look at me. They get nervous and take the path of the plump freezer deer. To thick for any blood to spill. Nice way to end the season getting deer close from the ground my last two sits. that's a wrap!!!
