I scouted behind the barn of a land owner tonight. Binos and video camera. Nothing worth recording. Given the EHD in my area I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see 13 slick heads pile into the beans. Granted, 3 of them were 2-3yr old does, and 10 appeared to be yearlings. Later I had a nice 2yr old 8pt roughly 110" raking a tree and move into the beans. There is hope! Washing my gear now. I'll keep scouting via binos and cameras. I'll keep shooting my bow. Maybe late October I'll buy a tag and hit the woods. Might eat the tag if it is all yearlings, but at least I'll be in the woods.

In. This oak flat is loaded with not just the food you see, but acorns too. I'm behind the house on a sketchy wind, but like I said before, the pressure is on back here, so I'm going for broke. This 100 acre block has a half dozen hunters and corn piles on it, so it's just a race at this point. If the pressure is too much and Old Boy goes nocturnal, maybe he'll get that extra year I'd like to see him get 😉

I’m home doing a local job until December so I pulled my card over the food plot yesterday and didn’t have anything on it lol, oh well.

Waiting on m buddy to catch up so we can move through a great looking northern Michigan piece of grouse cover. Just moved one but no shot opportunity. Ten yards and no clear shot. Gotta live grouse.

I probably went through a solid box of shells on grouse in the UP when I went to school and never did connect on one. Let alone the one's that scared the shit out of me and went away unharmed with no boom.

Here are three that are worn completely out. Three days of non-stop hunting was apparently their limit. The little Brit is ready for more but the two veterans are done. LolView attachment 110969
