Poked a BB tonight right below me. Had to take something with a bow before gun. Been over a year. The girls had fun tracking and dragging.

It’s not every day that you see a doe with 5 fawns. No way to know for sure if they are all hers, but they were all the same size and she was looking out for all of them like they were hers. Usually if there are orphans or stray fawns in a doe unit, you can tell who is and isn’t family. I had a good shot opportunity, but just as I raised my bow to shoot, one of the three BB’s stepped right up next to her. I mean like their sides were touching. They wound up walking out of that nice opening together. Oh well. Then a pair of bucks came by, one of which I turned down first week of November (2 1/2 4x4) and his much larger buddy close behind. Superb 3 1/2 9pt, almost 10. 🙂

I had a great morning hunt. saw a total of15 flat tops and two bucks. tightened up the string twice on good close encounters.. "all of the fun, none of the mess." (y):D I really am trying to skewer another doe before the orange army is released. going back to that same stand tonight as the forecast SE wind will be perfect for the first time all season for an evening hunt. have yet to sit there for an evening hunt. I'm feeling good about my chances tonight.
