Dang It Man! I will have to say that is the absolute most fun that is humanly possible while hunting without a kill. One premature left turn saved that buck's life for another day. That particular little thicket has 2 exits... One into Glenna's shooting lane the other away from us.... So Close And So Fun!

4 bucks in the A.M.

14 antlerless in the P.M.

Wind laid down during the last hour. All antlerless this evening were grouped together grazing within the fields late, No chasing! Bucks most likely lurking along the field/wooded edges, however I did not see any. Things are really shaping up for tomorrow for the real heavy chasing to begin. Deer routine behavior and patterns are no different than what they were for the last four or five years, just before the full rut fires off in my area. Getting all jacked up and ready to put in real long days over the next two.

And 'THUNDER' was at the 'Western Stand' setup last night, so, I know he's close by.

Had a change of plans this week- was supposed to hunt Thursday to Sunday but i got a bad call from my mom- aunt passed away. Wake Thursday eve funeral this morning. Funeral was in Reynoldsburg property in licking. Decided to pack the truck and drive separately from wife and two youngest daughters. .got in stand around 4- saw one large body deer walking in saplings. Good luck everyone this weekend

Rain moved out, flurries followed. All calm now. First sit in this stand this year. Been waiting for a day like this to hunt it. When the wind does pick up it should be just right for this transition area. Which, of course, means I won’t see diddly

Have been settled for about a half hour. Mix of rain and snow and a fairly stiff SW wind. Haven’t hunted this chunk of private all year and it seems to have paid off with a couple deer on cam. The first is flirting as I know he’s not older than 2.5 I don’t think, the other is a goofy one and definitely on the list. Only thing I am not a fan of here is where the cross is unreasonably close. Like 12 yds. Set this stand up a few years ago for the stick bow and now that I’m shooting a compound I’m not afraid of 25yds anymore lol. Good luck to anyone out

I’m out with my uncles best friend on a piece ofproperty in Huron count, really neat property. The guy hates hunting alone , feels good to hunting with one of the men that introduced me to hunting (1st hunt of year with someone else)Had trouble finding the stand ran a couple does off in field finding it, life is good
