Man this 130” 8 pt almost caught an arrow. I sat on the ground this evening due to wind. Grunted this buck into 15 yards at about 445. Thought he was a real good one when I first saw him 100 yards out. Drew my bow for shits and giggles. Damn he looked huge on the ground that close up. Lol almost let it fly because I was so worked up. Might have to try hunting from the ground more often.

Saw 4 bucks and 4 does. All mature does and none of the bucks were of the same class. All sub 4 years old imo. Had an absolutely tore up buck come in at last light and stand underneath me for 5 minutes. Literally had the worst limp I had ever seen on a deer while walking in, half his rack was broken off on the left and missing 2 points on the right. Finally left and grunted the whole way past the well… I think I’m doing the right thing. Will be back in tomorrow! It’s getting very deery though!

Took off @2, arrived @3, got completely setup by 4, ready for hunt. Saw the same doe & 6pt. buck from yesterday I think, curse by during last half hour, just inside 45yrds. Buck trailed the doe straight out into the freshly picked cornfield, and both fed until dark. No horse play was observed or heard. I stuck around within the tree until 6:30 or so, then headed straight for home. Now playing catchup right here while eating venison chilly.

It was a fun hunt, and a beautiful evening!

I'll be in this setup for the rest of the week. Good night all!

I oughta smack someone for being up this early. I hate it. I should climb in right before shooting light, which is my preferred timing from a scent standpoint. Prepared to stay in the woods all day if need be. Going to stay put until 2, then pull my set and hang in a new spot for the evening pending what I see throughout the course of the day. Good luck out there fellas!

Been in for 20 or so, have deer running around me already. Buddy invited me to his place to sit in his elevated blind on his property. Couple good uns running around. Packed plenty of slim Jim’s and snickers to get me through all day if need be. Good luck to anyone else out on this beautiful morning. Hoping for a change of pace today.
