Well..... at 730 this morning the freak deer I passed last year gave me a perfect 20 yard chip shot and he ducked my arrow. I hit him high right around the spine. Arrow was sticking out of both sides as he bound off. I sat until 1030 waiting on my cousin to show up to help find blood and then let him sit for a few hours. After an hour and a half of looking we can't find any hair or blood at all, absolutely nothing. I haven't lost a deer in a long time and this feeling sucks.

The corn field I've been waiting to spend some time on got cut last night late,I'll be there tonight. Tucked into a thick Wood lot right now for a few hours. Never had luck midday not sure why I even fool with it.

@bowhunter1023 persevere through the wind and stay confident. I talked to guy yesterday with a 167” beast of a ten pointer, and he shot it Saturday during that crazy 40 mph wind.

I'm a long way from Maxx I believe. We covered the area pretty good looking for blood so I don't know if that would mess a dog up.
So I took off 3 hours this morning hoping to see the buck that came by both cameras yesterday morning. Saw nothing. So I head to work. Just get here and then I get a camera alert. THAT MOTHERFUCKER! LOL.

Well, my first sit of the year still feels great even though nothing has been spotted yet. Sitting over a clover patch bro planted after we cleared out this opening. Got 3 cams over this spot and bucks have taken over the mocked scrape a started during Stroud trip. Unfortunately the cam I had over the run station and scrape was defected which will get tossed but I loaded it with a brand new 32 gig card and added another cam in video mode nearby watching the decoy. Other camera had one decent wide 8 on it, daylight yotes and flock of turkeys and few other deer but most were at night. The more recent deer pics were closer to dawn and dusk though so hopefully things get better starting today.
Twp/ county road worker blading the gravel road all morning nearby didn’t do me any favors today but he’s done now I hope. Sitting here all day soaking it all in. There’s a hot doe nearby somewhere but I just need her to get bumped out here in front of me. If a non shooter buck plows into my deke I ain’t risking getting busted so it’ll stay down if that happens. Plan on doing another rattling sequence after 4. I hear something stirring around below me in the brush once in awhile but could be anything. Good luck to everyone that’s out.

Thanks to last night’s delicious hot wings, my all day sit turned into me running out of the woods at 11:15 holding both butt cheeks together with both hands. Probably lost some equipment through the chaos but don’t care. Back in, different location. Great spot, squeaky stand that needs thrown away. Got stuck halfway up my ladder with dumb 4 point coming at me. Good luck all.

Worked my 2 nights in November and now I’m off until December 2. Still nothing great on cam so this stranger 9 point that just showed up is the hit list. He won’t make 140 but I need a reason to sit here. The problem is there are 2 resident 9s that are also lefty’s that I don’t want to shoot. Low light problems.
I am in the windiest stand on the property but it’s the right wind. Good luck fellas.

Climbed down at 12, packed up my stand/sticks, then worked my way back towards the two spots I had in mind for the evening. Checked a cam near the first spot and not enough daylight activity to talk me into hanging a stand. Found a nice spot in the creek to turn the prairie dog loose that was trapped in my drawers. Ate another sammich while I let me feet air out for a bit, then slipped up the hill to the spot where I killed my buck in 2020. Enjoying my chaw with one ear bud in listening to the THP podcast while I work on my tan. Reckon I'll start paying more attention at 3. Zero expectations this evening, but I can't kill them mowing the yard.

Just got caught with my pants down… almost literally. Taking a piss in my jug, about fifteen minutes ago, when out of the blue, a decent buck comes in! He was running the shit out of this doe! Awesome to see but literally got caught with my dick in my hand lol think it was a buck I’ve had early season but haven’t seen him since first or second week of October. Not a shooter. Will post a pic of him here shortly
