Now it's a steady rain till 9pm, wtf. Better make a good shot, that's a lot of leaf lickin if not!
Y'all got any of dem New Years Day deerz?!? I don't really want to fool with a deer tonight, but I would for her, so here we sit. She's not had great luck this year. Let's hope tonight is the night!
Looks better than the bolt. We shall see what happen in 4-5 hours...

Definitely wasn't heart shot. Bled good for 100 yards, laid down, then only a couple of drops. I'm positive we didn't jump him and we only went 20 yards past the bed before calling it a night. I have stuff to do first thing in the AM, so I'll be back around lunch to make a go of it.
Elevated position? Was she on the right or left of the camera? I'm just trying to figure out what angle that bolt is entering.
Bolt didn't look good? Pass thru shot? Hopefully two leaking holes with some carnage to the vitals and the bolt just got wiped clean on exit.

We were on the ground with 3-4' in elevation on the deer, and she was to the left of the camera. Deer was not completely broadside to her, but not quite 10-4 on the dial either. Really, until I see the deer, I'm wouldn't have changed her shot. Obviously it could have been better, but I'm proud of her execution. We were covered up in deer for 20 minutes with this buck dogging does all around us. She was all sorts of hyped up and had to back off the shot twice to collect herself. An inch forward and we watch that buck fall.
