I’m in. Got in reasonably quiet other than bumping a very heavy hooved single deer near my parking spot (first time ever that’s happened at this chunk). Hoping for some action after seeing what has been through here the past 48 hours. Perfect wind and I’m loving this stand location. Plenty of acorns still dropping. Have a flock of turkeys milling through, I’m considering shooting one but idk if I wanna mess with it or not. I guess if a long beard is in the bunch I’ll try to capture him. Good luck to anyone else out this beautiful evening.

Good luck… Seems like a day that a big one (other than Chads) too hit the dirt!

Down in the holler where the creeks intersect tonight. Called for no wind or rain and it's currently windy and raining. It's a bit risky to be here as I'd intended this to be a morning set for high pressure, low wind mornings, but I needed to add a lifeline for my daughter since this spot was created for her. Figured I'd get in here for a dry run before I bring her down for a hunt. I really dig this spot and have always wanted to hunt here. After 18 years, we made it happen. Found some great sign on the way in, including a bed big enough for me to be comfortable in up on the ridge above me. This is close quarters combat, so I'll be on edge until dark.

I just had a weird racked skipper 7 chase a legit 2” spike past me grunting up a storm. Antlered doe? Transgender buck? Somebody a bit confused here. I’m naming that runt spike “Lola”. 🤣 Third time I’ve seen it this week. I probably ought to remove his little ass from the gene pool if I get the chance.
