Had a memorable hunt last night! Not much of a story to tell, was pushing a couple does and gave me a shot and the rest is history. Thanks Brock and Mason for helping me get him out. Weight before gutting was 275. We had a hell of a time maneuvering him. He was an old deer and im happy but not without the feelings of sadness that come with it. A deer has to be right everytime and we have only have be right once. That's a hard way to live.
Freaking outstanding!!

I’m in. On the ground again, don’t have shit for a decent hide but I’m banking on a doe to come through getting harassed, or a lonely button buck. Figure I’m “allowed” to shoot a button buck since I’m using the stick bow this evening lol. I’ve been settled for an hour, and just had a guy waltz in and climb a tree 50 yards from me. Thankfully he is straight down wind, and I’m between him and the bedding 😂 Had he gotten in here earlier, I would’ve gone elsewhere, but it’s a dog eat dog world out here on public land.

Remember, button bucks are pussies. 😂

Remember wayyyyy back when I said public is dog eat dog? Well homeboy just shot something with his crossbow. I just happened to peek around the tree with my binos and saw him shouldering and POW. Sounded like he hit every single stick and branch but I did hear a deer bound off. His buddy just came walking back, assuming to help track or drag. Gonna sit the last 15 min because there’s no reason not to. Assuming it was a young buck based on where he was aiming and due to the fact the deer would’ve been directly down wind lol.
