Me and the kids are out. 2 pretty good bucks been here real regular. Of course one of the big ones daylighted yesterday and I was at a baseball tournament. They did take home second but one of us would have a buck tag filled if we were there. I was going in there tonight but a tough wind for that spot and these deer have been to regular to not bring the kids in.

Took my youngest daughter on a four-wheeler ride tonight and we checked on the gut pile from Kaydence's buck. It was gone except the stomach contents, which were 90% acorn paste. Very little corn despite a whole neighborhood of bait piles and next to no greens. Pretty obvious what the main food source is right now! Also, rotted partially digested acron pastes is a special smell that'll stick with ya 😂

Beyond frustrated seen a buck of life time tonight at 40 yards before he winded me. Some old sloppy fuck smoker that has his entire extended family hunting this 5 acres woods kicked the deer up then it ended up busting me. 3 years of hunting this buck blown the third day of the season. These dudes typically don’t start hunting till November. Thanks needed to vent

Hopefully you can use their carelessness to your advantage and find a location he moves to. He won't put up with close calls for much longer in that 5 acres.
I did last night, I seen him park and walk in, I immediately got into my stand on the other side of the woods hoping the deer would pop out north of me and run down tree line. they popped out 70 yards east north east, walked south west towards me and winded me with the NE wind. I have another plan up my sleeve across the street in the bean field with a few brush lines, but I have limited time as a father of 3. Probably a lost cause, I may just get cut throat and attempt to lease it next year, I hate to do it but people are idiots and can’t play nice.

I’m in. Wind is not doing what it was forecasted to, shocker. If any deer show from the anticipated direction, I won’t have a whole lot of time before they get down wind of me. Considered climbing down and packing up, but I’m too lazy and love this setup besides the wind. Good luck to everyone else out.
