Perfect morning. Heard hoof steps behind and to my left. I violated my 10 minute rule (don’t move for at least 10 minutes if you think you hear a deer)…just had to adjust my mask after convincing myself it was nothing….it ran an snorted. Then 30 minutes later a thick but tiny rack 8 point with a forker in tow walked right into my kill zone. Passed it up. All in all pretty happy with that.
Hunting a different stand tonight on a cut been field. Took the long way in so not to spook anything and when I got to with bow range of my stand a good one jumped up and took off. Wtf
We were watching three feed towards us across the pasture and a big ol nana doe stepped a 100 yards to our south. Angled across the field and got our wind when she was 50 yards from us. Ran back blowing and cleared the field. Least it's still early
Well with savannah being in Florida with a friend this weekend and the buck I was hunting getting wounded the other night. I brought my wife to the blind tonight. She hasn't hunted for years I think since Cooper was first born so we shall see what happens. My brothers out with my nephew and my buddy is in from Tennessee there should be blood on vanes tonight.
Way too windy tonight. And my stomach was making all kinds of noise….deer probably thought I was making balloon animals in my blind! Couldn’t hear for shit Saw nothing.
Deer came in tonight but we never let one fly and we got to watch a 130 inch 8 pt chase some does around. It was a awesome day together and she loved it watching me whack the turkey! I was really happy to see that! I'm heading out on another farm in the morning. It had good buck movement on it today. See how tomorrow goes. Night guys I'm hitting the sack
I raced my last dirt track race of the season tonight. Was hoping to hunt tomorrow night. Wife got one before me. Did it the hard way. We were planning on keeping this ride a few more years until the house was paid off. At least she was okay. Small buck hanging in the barn. See how much meat is good on it this week.
I'm in, first sit of the season. I remembered quickly why I haven't hunted mornings much the last couple years. I don't really have any spots where I can get in cleanly in the AM without bumping deer. Gonna sit and see what happens and enjoy my first hunt in quite a while.
Thinking about it I don't think I have ever killed a deer early morning. Always around that ten or eleven o'clock range or early afternoon when the ruts on. The golden four hours between ten and two. A few during the last hour of light. I'm in(bed) lol. Good luck hunters!
