Live from the stand!

Just had a small buck come in right after posting that. He meandered around for 40 minutes then left. He almost choked on my Apple core I threw and he let out a big snort I litteraly laughed out loud and he heard it but then settled back down and continued to eat some corn. Its funny how any size deer big or small gets my heart racing.

Rain moved out. Hoping that gets deer on their feet. First hunt in this woods for the year. It is small. It is like public land. A successful sit here is very rewarding. Brought my climber. Stands already placed won't work for where I anticipate deer to come from. Hung a camera on the way in. Haven't stepped foot in the woods since early summer. I decided to hunt this woods to mix things up. Just wanted to enjoy a hunt. Zero expectations. Looks like the good Lord is rewarding me for being humble. I found this on the way in. Couple more similar are close by. Generally a couple scrapes not far from here either. Didn't go looking for them.



Went to screw in my bow holder and it was missing. I laughed and improvised. Sure hope it works and I don't drop my bow.

All set up . Chasing a 140 ish ten pt . Good luck . Quick question i keep seeing you guys post on those smoke scent sticks . Just curious you guys you the all season ones as a cover sent ? Never tried them before but am interested.

It's not a stick. It's a whole canister that is used as a cover scent. If you search on here there is a whole page on it. I'll see if I can find the link to it.

In a new stand tonight. Wind is right and seat is comfy. Had a 160+ 12 pt. (10 w/split brows) run full speed in front of me on the way here. Had to lock up the breaks or it was all bad! Gorgeous Deer! Hope that means something....GooD Luck Everyone!

Mason and I came out about 3 to hang a stand and hunt. We saw four shortly after setting the stand. I've been in my stand for ten minutes and have seen five more.

Rattled shortly after 5. Not long after I heard noise. The parade of deer began. Small does being harassed by young bucks. A nice 2.5yr old came in on mouthed and making clicking sounds. Read about it. Seen it on TV. First time hearing it in the wild. Pretty cool. Out popped a button a d his sister. Later followed by his momma. More to follow. Seen 7 already. It is that time of the night I need to out phone away.
