Dad drove down from Toledo last night, today's his birthday and I'm putting him in a honey hole! High hopes of going to drag out a deer after work tonight.

Similar to Gordo. Passed one I maybe shouldn't have but he was a young deer. 3 at the most. Possibly an exceptional 2yr old. Mouth open on the move. Rattled and brought in 3 1.5yr old bucks. That was fun. Then s aww a 5th buck or possibly #4 coming back thru. Couldn't tell. Otherwise slow. A button buck and his sister. No other does or mature bucks. Wind has settled off and on now. Still chilly. Waiting on a mature buck so I can get to work.

I should add most deer have been downwind. Thanks Scent Smoker and Evercalm. Debating whether to break for lunch or not. I'll need another or a different layer to make it til dark.

Love my scent smoker, how long do you smoke your clothes and do you do it with them on or before hand.

I smoke each layer. Skin to last layer. Thorough coating on all. Extra thick on outer layers, bow, and boots.

I saw four antlerless and one buck. The buck has one of the doe's pinned down in a thicket. She came out and he would come get her. Also saw a coyote.

Just had a buck cow thru that gave me a little excitement. 47 yds. Not taking that shot. Especially in this wind. I never recovered my buck last year after a low belly shot. Lesson learned. Just watched him be purty...
