Good advice, Im sure that has to do with the objective lens size as well.

i get a nice discount on the vortex scopes. I’ll have to look to see if their higher quality scopes have a bdc
Any reticle that has MOA or Mil hashes will work, it's just a matter of shooting it enough to know your holdover.

BUT I'm also a big proponent of the mpb zero. In my 350L, which has similar ballistics to a 450BM, and a similar max effective range of 200ish yards; has a mpb zero of 25 & 172 yards with a +/- 3 inches out to 200 yards. So i don't even need a ballistic hold over until past 200 yards.

Anybody have any experience with a Leupold 3-9 Vari-X IIc?

Have one that was given to me collecting dust and was going to put it on the scout.

The new vx-3hd seems like too much scope for a 100 - 200 yard gun. I don’t want the CDS
