Constitutional rights don't apply to private business and you would have lost in court. They can require all customers wear a pink tutu if they want, if people object they are free to shop elsewhere.
As much as I disagree with the masks requirements, this is the stupidest shit I have heard of, a private company tells you to wear a mask, you wear it, don’t want to wear it, don’t shop there.
Funny you say that. Was explained to me (by their managers) that I was right, and if the Health Dept did come down on me or any other customer not wearing a mask, Rural King is instructed to pay any/all fines involved.
I don't think I'm taking Rural King's word on that. I suspect that the manager of that store was merely placating you as best he could to get your angry ass out of his hair as quickly and quietly as possible. either that or he is ignorant of the law. As I understand it, a private company can implement any policy they wish with respect to proper attire to enter their store. then again, I'm not an attorney.
Just relaying what I was told. I was actually polite but firm....never cussed or raised my voice.

I'm not going to wear a mask everywhere I go just because King Dewine tells me to, but I respect a business' right to require it on their turf. just like them requiring me to wear pants, shirt and shoes to enter. or to not wear a hat or hoodie or bring my dog in with me or whatever. business owners have the right to turn you away for a variety of reasons. anti-plague masks are just one more.

Too me I see it as the same as the no CCW on premises. You either comply or shop elsewhere.
I guess I don't understand the whole ordeal... honestly thought I was right. And to make it even more confusing, the manager telling me in private I was right?

Yep, they can trespass you just like no shirt, no shoes, no service. Try doing that in a Menards and I am sure you would have been talking to police with their nationwide policy. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to cause a big scene IMO when you can simply shop elsewhere or online. Those people are just doing their job and don't deserve the screaming and hassle.

Oh i am very pleased with his statement i am not a fan of Trump or Biden. Biden scares me mostly about his VP pick. I was just tickled a little wondering how all the anti maskers will take this. "Deadliest virus in history." Is a pretty lofty claim though.
Dewine is saying more orders this week. Private businesses should have the right to decide whether or not they stay open. I get rid of a lot of stress and anxiety at the gym. I'm going to be ticked if he closes gyms.
