Just had a doe come in. 5 more yards but she was nervous with the wind. Never saw me but wandered back into the thick stuff.

Going to go throw out a bag or corn today and hit it tomorrow. Funny thing is they are not hitting on the apples I got out there and they have slowed down on the corn. Not sure if its the Acorn crop they are going after or me hitting it hard and fast. My brother in-law said the same thing not to far down the road, not hitting the corn and apples like they were a week ago. Figured I would give it a cool down for a few days and see what happens.

Thanks Jesse for moving this thread by the way.

Good Luck J, Adam, and everyone else.

I hope they start coming in again for you Jeff. I know the crops are coming off around my hunting grounds. Beans have been off for a few weeks now and they started the corn last evening and probably finish that up today before that rain moves in. That will bring new deer in and some will vanish. Always hate this part of season when food sources change and deer move around again.

Good luck tomorrow when you get out Jeff!

Thanks Adam. I actually through out a bag of beans I picked up my mistake and they never touched the pile. Might need to try the corn slupery, lol.

I'm glad to see that you made the decision to get things checked out. I don't know you at all, but it seemed you were struggling a bit and sometimes you need that extra bump to help you see it/admit it.

Good luck to you in your adventures ahead. It's about time I start putting corn out myself. Maybe get one of my kids to get a crack at a deer.

Thanks Giles. Just a lot going on with work slowing down and a lot on my mind with worries.

Get some corn out there for the kids.

You guys seem to have a hell of a group here. We need to look out for each other in or out of the stand. I haven't had the chance to shake a lot of hands yet, but I'd like to shake everyone's at some point. Unfortunately I have been around a bit of people with heart problems so I'm bit jumpy when I see something. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Short story to explain a little more... A few years back my FIL was helping us paint a house we bought. He was pouring sweat, talking kinda funny, and breathing kinda heavy. I figured it was the fumes/heat/whatever else I could think of that wasn't serious. Later that night he had a major heart attack. He's fine and everything, but it always goes through my mind that I should have noticed. We all knew he had heart problems. So I told myself that if I ever noticed these things again, I would say something.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, I'd rather look dumb than have it on my mind. Because I still feel bad for my FIL and am very thankful he's still around. I also understand about stress. I owned my own company for a few years and I thought at times it was going to kill me. About 3 of those years I don't even remember much.

Good luck to you and I hope to read some more snowmobile trips out of you this year! Lol

Sorry for the ramble, been a long couple of weeks at work and I'm winding down for the day finally.

Your a kind and carrying member of TOO Giles and I appreciate your thoughts and input. With work I have not met a lot of members as well, some years back my brother CJD and I had a few boys up for a weekend of fun, great time and memories. I look forward to meeting you in person some day and talk more in depth about life and past experiences because it sounds like we have a lot in common.

Saw one scrubby buck but not close enough last night. Went out this morning a saw nothing, kind of underdressed and was a little chilly. Getting pretty ticked off at those raccoons. Getting photos of a dozen or more at night. I put 100 pounds of corn out Monday afternoon and as of this morning ( 3 nights since I put the corn out ) I have next to nothing left. :tantrum:

Sounds like you need to go for a night walk here in a couple weeks and thin those bandits out Jeff. Sounds like they should be nice a plump and could fetch a good price at auction lol.
