Excellent solution!I've since sold the Civic and those kayaks and now have a CRV with roof rails. I use a rubber backed bathroom rug, draped down the side, off of the roof, to load/unload any kayaks. That way I only have to lift one end of the kayak at a time, which makes it easier to load a larger 12' kayak. I just set one end on the top and lift the other end, while shoving it onto the top. Works pretty sweet.
