Next deer season's pledge...

My pledge for next year starts now, I'm working on getting this hip back into shape, loosing a couple of pounds and having fun next year! I'm not going to obsess about things I can't control. I have three good properties to hunt but only have sole access to one, my best property has one other guy hunting it that is a complete idiot and does everything ass backwards, it drove me to the point of not even hunting it last year when I could. Well this year I am going to use him to my advantage, the deer are still there they avoid him so I will use it to my advantage. It will be a better year regardless because I will be able to be more mobile and get around easier

Just the same as this year... have fun no matter what I'm doing. No more unrealistic goals of shooting only "this buck" or "that buck". The past two seasons, just having fun was my goal, and I never felt the burnout that had occurred in season's past. No pressure for anything, just have fun. If deer hunting becomes like a job then I stop & go duck hunting. If duck hunting isn't productive then I go deer hunting, if I felt like it. If I give up a weekend of hunting since scouting wasn't producing anything good and don't do anything but watch football, then so be it. Just have fun. I know that you can't kill 'em on the couch, but if the wind isn't right, conditions aren't right, or nothing solid is in the plans then I'll spend that time with the family. Just have fun.

Season just ended, and I'm already looking forward to it getting here again...

Other than my normal stuff....I'm thinking of making another go at handgun hunting. Taking a deer with the Super Redhawk is still on my to do list, this might be the year to make it happen.

I have 3 goals to help my daughter shoot her first whitetail, to teach my son more so he can start to pick out his own spots to hunt, and the goal for myself is to write the last chapter on the Split Brow buck :)

My "pledge" for the next season.
I will not buy any hunting crap that I don't need because it looks cool!
I am considering trying a heavier arrow, and I will get a bottle of fresh estrous for november, but other than that... I dont need anything else!

My "goal" for next season will be worked out through the summer. Not sure what expectations to have yet.
