Nothing about Nothing

the amount of low brow, insensitive humor here is such an infinitesimally small portion of the content that I have a hard time believing that anyone who spends 5 minutes perusing this site could get all that offended. it's the internet for fucks' sake. adult humor, language, and situations are a clear and present danger.

Matt, I know where you are coming from and appreciate you stating, and defending, your stance regarding outsider perception. I would reiterate that we did not create this place, nor do we make decisions based upon outsider perspective. We know our niche and we are committed to it irregardless of outsider perspective. I know you're not triggered and you present a well-deserved and valid position. I think we're all clear on each other's stance at this point, so let's not beat a dead horse and get back to memes that some may be offended by...

I can move on with the best of them, but I am offended by your use of the word "irregardless." The grammatically correct term is "regardless." Sheesh...

I think this is the third or fourth time now that I have said this. I would not expect you to censor anything

If you're not proposing censorship then what's you solution to change the perception you speak of then? There isn't one besides prohibiting such posts.

I don't buy that your intent was to simply find out where the line is drawn, it should have been blatantly obvious to you there isn't one. A quick look back through the previous 753 pages of this thread should have given you that answer pretty quick.

So of you have no solution besides prohibiting it, which is censorship, and your reasoning for asking was already blatantly obvious, then the only other reason was to blow the race whistle. If your intent was to teach kids about hunting by steering them to a site full of adult outdoorsmen, then that fault lies with you buddy. If I wanted to teach children about motorcycles the last place I would send them is a bike week forum. There are places for that, this ain't it and was never intended to be. Do what you need to do, steer them where you need to steer them, this obviously ain't the place and I won't lose a minute of sleep over it. If this causes you to reconsider your reason for returning to then site after 8 years then peace out brother.

This place has been "take it or leave it" for almost a decade. Other than that, Joe has (as always) nailed it. I support the free market and free speech over perceptions and feelings. If this thread offends you, don't read it. If it offends you enough to abandon our platform, c'est la vie.

For you youngsters....if you’ve never seen the movie Uncommon Valor, you won’t get it.

The intent wasn't censorship, it was seeing if other people agreed and simply chose not to say anything. I guess shame on me for not seeing the obvious, or scrolling through 700+ pages. I suppose I was hoping to see if there was enough consensus to draw a line that didn't exist. That was my intent. Not to blow some type of whistle or conduct some moral virtue signaling. I've been educated enough in this thread, and in other mocking posts elsewhere, to know where my views stand. That's where I am leaving it. If my intent was an attempt at censorship, and not discussion of an issue, I would have hit that little "report" button. Instead I chose to address it like a rational human being and point out and discuss my position. So be it that my opinion is an unpopular one.

My first words, that I spoke for nobody.

"Seriously racist dude... I'm not cool with this shit. I can't speak for Joe, Jesse, or anyone else on this site."

Sorry buddy I had you totally wrong before. You didn't want to personally advocate for censorship, you just wanted to start shit in hopes that censorship would happen if enough people joined in your angst.

Dont you think that if it was a problem it would have been discussed in the last 700+ pages. I have no doubt there are those that don't care for such humor. They just keep scrolling, don't read it, or use the ignore feature to ignore that person. This thread is a very very small portion of TOO and in no way dictates the opinion of the collective or the brand. Just like in life there are people we disagree with, we all have to ignore them and move on.

A few years ago we had a member show up after a few years absence. Dude was obviously a jew hater. Started posting threads about how the jews were evil, how the jews needed to be eradicated, etc. Guy lasted about 1 day before members gave him post warnings and he reached the automated ban limit for warnings. After a two week ban he came back doing the same thing and was permanently banned. The reason is because he was spewing hate and racist propaganda and nobody was going to stand for it. Coincidentally I have never received one post warning for something someone posted in the joke meme thread called nothing about nothing, because they're just that, a joke.

I get it, and I'm sorry that you are misconstruing my intentions. And I am at this point well aware that unpopular opinions are dealt with by the group in their own version of groupthink censorship.
