The gills and crappie are really starting to heat up around my area great night of fishing tonight!

Water was high and flushed the trout out of the hole. Just a couple creek chubs today.

I switched it up and went exploring on the Grand River today. I found a hole with about 50 trout in it. I kept

2 males and played catch and release with this 7 foot black snake.

I took some of the fur from the coyote I shot over the winter and made this little streamer of mostly coyote fur.

Then took it to the lake.

Been fishing steelhead with them? I hear that's one of the top producing steelhead flies.

There was a guy in the hole with them yesterday. He outfished me 12-2 using those flies vs my hook, redworm, and bobber setup. He let me take a pic of his rig. I’ll get some for next year.

You are correct. Our Spring run should be back to the Lake here in one week. I’ve got one year to get my fly gear on. Geez, this stuff is expensive. Fly fishing must be a rich man’s sport. Need to hit a few garage sales this summer.
