Knowing that they are running late, I might change my hunting approach for opening weekend. Hunting these could be pure gold!
If you know where my place is in McArthur, you’re welcome to go down by my pond and check the woods between the pond and my neighbors property line...he told me there’s lots there but he’s never harvested them.Knowing that they are running late, I might change my hunting approach for opening weekend. You know i know where its at. I've got more than a few spots with them. Thanks though! If you know where my place is in McArthur, you’re welcome to go down by my pond and check the woods between the pond and my neighbors property line...he told me there’s lots there but he’s never harvested them.
Generally, low, wet areas.I have yet to find any. My uncle had said before there were some on the farm but have no idea where or where to look.
What’s the opinion on it?I got to try my first one last week. Found a nice one and the wife and I tried it. The trees seem to be loaded with fruit this year.
We both liked it! Hard to describe. Texture like a ripe banana with a sweet taste to it.What’s the opinion on it?
Will do....Now run a blood trail past a patch and see what he does.
Youll get an odd fruit or two but not get a loaded tree. Probably the fastest way to get fruit and genetic diversity for your trees is to graft them. Hit some of my honey holes this weekend and if there were dropped fruit the deer/coon/possum got em. Picked several off trees that were ripe. And by several i filled 3 gallon Ziploc bags 3/4 of the way up while squirrel hunting.I apparently have a colony of young paw paws growing close to my shed but unless I get another paw paw from a different colony they will not pollenate or bare fruit. I guess they are spread through runners/shoots from the mature tree.
How long does it take them too produce the fruit?Took a pic of the small grove of paw paws near my shed just off the back yard.
