I’ve been scheming something of a rain catcher for my one barn also. I’m thinking about building a 4-ft-ish tall platform on a slab or footing, then setting an IBC tote on top. Run two downspouts to it from the front and back corners and I’ll have about 1600 sq ft of roof feeding it. Then just gravity over to the garden. Or install a small 12V pump and some drip emitter tubing.
It is your time and money, but hear me out. Level it. Throw some 4/11s or nice packing stone down for a base. Run a plate compactor over it. Make it 6x6 or 8x8. Buy two totes. Stack them. With the wire cage around them, I believe they are stackable. If they are not, then disregard. I've priced concrete. Hoo-doggie. Not cheap. Second tote with water wouldn't be terrible.

Back at it this AM to finish the site prep. Got all the wood loaded, but shed is being an ass. The sand is just too soft. Forks for the steer this AM and 3" wood poles to roll it on this AM is the plan. Gotta be done by 11am.
