I was waffling about whether to go to work or not; Dustin's post made me get off my ass. Thanks for the peer pressure.
Threw my little snowblower in the truck and took it to work; the snow removal dude had plowed the lot but didn't get to the sidewalks yet, so that was a good thing to have.
My guess is that all the old people like me will show up for work and the youngin's will take the opportunity to be off.
The boss had told us yesterday to use our judgement, and that safety is the first priority, which is cool.
But old school pride/fear of ridicule can be a driving factor - I'll be dipped in dogshit before I candy-ass out and just take a day off.
If he can make it I can make it.
And fuck the weather people by-the-way, this ain't snowmageddon. Drama queen assholes....
So I stopped at McD's, said to the cashier "Look at you, you ain't no sissy, you made it to work!" And she replied "I didn't have a choice - my GM came and picked me up, because my car wouldn't have made it..." so dumbass me, I says "You're not a sissy, you're just oppressed!" She didn't smile at the joke. After I got my food I drove around the building and pulled up again and thanked her for being there so I could have my breakfast and that make her smile and laff. Gotta be careful, Covid is turning me into an asshole. (yeah, it's the Covid.)
