Yup that’s all they do. Change definitions of words to push an agenda.
Our power was restored at 6:00 pm. Resting a whole lot easier now! Very thankful for the tough-ass linemen and anyone else responsible for those utilities!
Just loaded up the boiler for the night. Probably need to get up early and fill it again before 7. It’s nice and toasty inside all day and we were very luck and blessed to not have lost power per the norm during high wind storms in our area.
House sitter said we haven't lost power and everything is fine. I couldn't talk her into cleaning off the cell cam though. Hard to find good help these days. Lol
Damn I am getting old, this single digit shit is for the birds, and negative windchills can suck it.

Ccccccold outside here... Says 14 on the weather channel but feels like -14 esp. with the wind... Living close to the ocean doesn't help... Always a damp cold...

7* here in south jersey. Going over a friends house to help make some home made gnocchi and maybe some holiday cookies. Not looking forward to going outside to a cold vehicle. Weather forecast is for low 60’s next weekend!
Walk outside, start up truck, heat on high, walk back in the house. Pour a cup of coffee. Finish said coffee. Wall back outside, enter warm truck. Drive too destination….. Repeat at the opposite destination……
Warmed up to 0. I slept downwind of the woodstove blower getting up every 1.5hrs to put more wood in. Again fuck this wind. It has calmed to 20mph at least for now but going to pick up 5mph for the day.
I tried that yesterday it didnt work. I had to step on the gas for some time to feel heat. Maybe drink 3 or 4 cups.
I do not think we received the kind of winds that was originally forecasted for our location, but @theotherfarm, it appears that it got more of the brunt of this latest storm, snow blizzard wind type conditions, even still this mornin.
It's a balmy 77 degrees in the workshop and as been maintained at that temp ever since the artic blast got here midnight Thursday.
I'm just waiting on those temps to rebound come Tuesday, so I can get back out and replenish my firewood pile.

Sounds weird to say it feels warmer here today when it's still single digits with negative wind chill, but it did lose a bit of its edge over night. Surprised our roads are cleaner. Just went down to the store and it was slick as hell in spots.
Went out to check boiler at 7 and it was empty with just a few inches of hot embers left. Took less than 10 hours to burn up.
I put a layer of small 2-5" logs on top of coals and 2 16" chunkers and more 6-7" inchers to fill it up and she's cranking good now.

We are warmer but not warm yet. One wheel loader refused to fire. One backhoe cranked too slow to fire. One skid loader gelled up. 3 guys didn't answer their phones. Oh well. Got everything cleaned up with myself and 3 guys. First world problems. Feeling blessed. Shower. Take an hour nap. Go see my wife's family for Christmas but only because we are doing brunch for the meal. Otherwise I think I might have just slept thru the family gathering.
