Seeing some decent rat sign. I'm trying to concentrate on those before the lakes freeze. I hate trapping through the ice. I was wanting to set some coon sets this weekend but may just see what the weather does and try to catch as many rats as I can.

They sure got heavy by the time I hit back to the truck. Haha. I have heard all kinds of predictions about coon prices and my best guess is.......who knows?
Two coon and two rats today. I let the one coon go. He was just s little fella. Caught my first creek rat. Had a hole in the bank so I set it walah, muskrat. Haha. Set about 10 more coon traps out today, they should move with the fairly warm night tonight and that front moving in. We will see in the morning.
I pulled a lot of my coon sets and moved some to another stretch of river.... I am not seeing hardly any coon sign at all now........ I have a bridge that I caught probably 8 coon under last year....its covered in tracks and have yet to catch a coon there this year... not sure what the deal is....

Thanks Zach. What are you baiting with? I've caught mine on three different baits so I can't pin them down to just one specific thing but I will share with you what I'm using.
I'm just using Dog food mixed with mino marshmallows with sardines and a coon lure. When the soon walk by them they put their hand in it. Telling ya though, there aren't many coon running here rt now. I'm sitting awesome coon sign with tone of tracks and shit..... no coon there as of 3 days ago
I've only caught six so far but two of them I caught on cat food coated in bacon grease, two on a corn and cat food mix, and two on straight marshmallows drizzled with maple syrup.

Without a doubt J. It's really nice to not be constantly winded like I have been in the past.
I had one coon and two rats today, but that was just a bonus because the really nice part was getting to take my nephews, Brayden and Camden, with me. Camden was the leader of the rat pack.
