It’s a 2023 pic but still the 2022 season…another damn coyote in my back yard. Before this year, I’ve never caught one on camera here, although I did see a few from afar in my neighbors field. This year I’ve got plenty of pics…
The good buck I had pics of real early in the season has come back and I’m getting daylight pics. Our permit shotgun season opens this Saturday January 7th…hoping he doesn’t shed before I get a chance at him.
Kinda hard to see and I had to zoom in so the image can be seen better. The house near the property I hunt has people who just moved in last spring….they have goats, chickens, ducks and some other animals. They built a coop but let their chickens free range. There are ALOT of coyotes, coons and fox on my property and in the swampland around it. I find chicken feathers about once a week on the walk into my stand, so I know the chickens are getting hit hard. This is the first image I have of a fox carrying a chicken…it was taken about 200 yards from their coop.
Not the greatest pics because of darkness and distance but…..red fox on his way to get dinner followed by red fox bringing dinner home. I’ve found chicken feathers all season long while walking to my stand and am now getting pics of the culprits. I’d like to know how often that dude needs to buy new chickens because I’m guessing the fox have taken dozens.
I had jokingly said earlier that I was expecting a pic of a coyote carrying away one of this guys goats….just got a pic of one of his lambs walking through “coyote alley”.
