Interesting hypothetical so using what is prolly a high avg of bolt speed across 90 yards, 450fps which is generous based on the Ballistics chart below... using a 430fps crossgun.
Travel time for 505 fps across 90 yards .6 seconds.
Speed of sound, .24 secs 90 yards.
So crossgun slap to hit where the deer stands. .36 seconds. From the sound slap to impact.
.6 secs full flight time.
Thats an awfully long time for a critter not to move.
I think the issue, that has been beat to death here across many threads is, folks holding a 'gun', stock, trigger, scope sling, etc in the crucial moment forget or ignore they're shooting a semi fast arrow.
