I let my boiler burn out while we were out of town 10 days. It was mild. Left it off. After a week or so back home I lit it again. We are having mild days but some cool days mixed in. Need heat in the shop for a project I'm working on. Probably keep it burning another week or two. The good news is it isn't eating much wood and I'm not using any gas. Just sucks in the days 60 degrees and up. Sort of a waste but easier to keep it lit than restart it every time.
I did finish the firewood splitting and stacking a week or so back. Probably the most stocked I have been with firewood at the end of a winter as I have ever been. Usually I am depleted or close to it by April. By the time I have two large maples removed this year I'll be close to full for next year.
5 rows. 6' tall x 18-20' deep x 18-30" wide. Plus a partial row to the left. Roughly 7-7.5 chords drying.
I did the math multiple ways based on width of each row. I multiplied by 1.5' or 2' wide per row. Also only used 18' deep rows rather than 20' deep for conservative math. (In case someone is getting nerdy and checking my math.
