I think me and my oldest may go out in the am. There’s some decent public land I do well on, if they aren’t being bombarded tomorrow we’ll do a few walks then shoot doves on the neighbors farm later. I’m still looking for black squirrels up here.

I did a little scouting for squirrels this evening. Found a couple of new spots that my son and I will hit in the morning.

Opened out here today. I took Shea on her first squirrel hunt and she was 2 for 4. She is already asking when we can go again.

A couple of my duck hunting buddies are coming over in the morning. Probably headed to the farm since we can hunt squirrels and doves there. We may hit some public land for sqwacks later in the day. Pumped to be back in the woods chasing down game!

On the board! He's been a my heel for 6/10ths of a mile. I spotted this one cutting hickory nuts, got him to heel, stay, moved 8' to my left and dropped it. Fun times!
We didn’t do any good this morning. Never saw a squirrel but we did see a few deer including a decent buck. Plan on heading out this evening for a bit.

Drew went 4-4. He was honoring his great grandfather by using his Browning A-5 this morning.
Headed out for the evening hunt once the rain quits. Doves have been roosted all morning and afternoon it seems. Should be in the sky this evening.
Mallory went 4 for 4 with a .22 this morning. Tough morning with the rain.
We only managed 2 birds between the three of us. Ryan got both. I wasn't impressed with the amount of birds flying this evening.
I saw 3 squirrels and my son saw none. I may or may have not missed 2.

With the wind and leaves it made for spotting them very hard

Ain’t even seen one...seen a single dove on a bird feeder. Grabbing a sandwich and heading back out.
We did see a coyote at 30-35 yards but these excited boys were out in front of me, so no shots fired.

I went “squirrel hunting” this morning. Actually just a speed scouting excursion on a piece of public I’m gonna deer hunt this year. I did tote the 20 gauge so I gues I was technically hunting lol. It felt good to get back in the woods but, damn, I remember why I don’t go out this time of year
