2 years ago we had a good summer filled with some pretty damn good fires. With that came some replacement cans. I think it was Jon that replaced one with a full one. Knowing that I don't burn much gasoline around the house, I dumped some Sta-bil in it. Today I dumped it in my new mower and it ran as if I had just bought it.

I've also had the talk with a few of the guys around these fires about how the shelf life on this new fuel is only 30 days. That's right folks, the ethanol is only good for 30 days before it starts to break down.

All my 2cycle stuff gets the premix cans. So I don't worry about treating it. But I would suggest everyone treats the fuel they have. This is extra important for those who like to buy and keep some on hand. I don't have experience with any other gasoline additives. I'm sure others work as advertised, but I can only speak for Sta-bil.

I go out of my way, albeit just a little, for ethanol free gasoline for my two-cycle equipment. I'm not paying 5 times more for the premixed gas when I can get ethanol free for about $1 more per gallon than regular unleaded with ethanol. I put Sta-Bil in every drop of gas that I put in all of my power equipment whether two-cycle or not. Since I started doing that, and now that I have replaced everything but my chainsaw with battery power, I never have an issue with bad or old gas. ;)

Yep. Here's another vote for stabil. Two years ago I got my generator fixed and filled up the tank and added stabil. I run that generator a handful of times per year. And this afternoon it fired right up. No problems. Stuff just works.

I've always used Staybil with no complaints but I've heard other people swear by the Seafoam fuel treatment. Don't know what the difference is or if there is any but... my two cents.

Been using 'STA-BIL' fuel stabilizer for well over a decade at least. Always have it on the shelf. I swear by it!

Lawnmower - I buy ethanol-free Rec fuel and use that exclusively during the mowing season. Anything leftover in the fall gets treated with Sta-bil. After my final grass cutting, I will treat any remnant fuel in the lawnmower with Sta-bil and then run the mower out of fuel. I like to store it over winter with an empty carburetor. My gas chainsaw doesn’t see a whole lot of use, so I always buy the premixed fuel for it.
