I was once a huge fan of tape due to the speed I could fletch. I now use Bohning Fletch Fuse... 20 seconds to set. I think it’s even quicker than tape as you don’t have to peel or cut. You may give it a try. Available most anywhere and not overly expensive.

I love archery, I hate fletching arrows.

I decided I'd do half the dozen in Trad Vanes and the other half in feathers. I'll be ordering the feathers today. With tape and feathers, it's ridiculous how much faster arrows can be done.

“Feathers are for flying” 😂

I would be very curious how the vanes fly compared to feathers. I just can't imagine they would be as forgiving. Especially when you start shooting broad heads off the shelf. I sure get the convenience of the vanes and I can tell if they fly off the shelf as well as a feather that is what I would be using.

All I can say is try them. They're pretty darn cheap. Pick up a dozen for $6 and fletch up an arrow or two. They fly fine for me off the shelf. Just don't hit them with another arrow, because this happens.

I usually shoot 1 arrow at a time, I seldom shoot groups anymore. This was a 1-time deal this morning making sure all the new arrows were flying well. Last group and this shit happens. lol

The trad vanes are really slick. If I didn’t love the look and tradition of feathers so much, I’d probably use the trad vanes exclusively.

I’ve never tried fletching tape before. How easy does it come off for replacing feathers? I’ve had really good results with Loctite Ultra Gel Control glue... very fast and very effective... but it’s a bitch when it comes to refletching arrows.

I'm always using wraps on my arrows, so if I ever had to refletch (I did one arrow I damaged last fall that was feathers/tape), I just did the boiling water trick and removed the wrap entirely. Then re-wrapped and started fresh.

I went out at lunch and pumped 6 or 7 into this spot from 18, after a solid lung shot from 28-30 cold bore. This bow feels like an extension of me right now, I hope we continue to get along this well.

3D target is taking it rough, though.

I'm not a trad guy but I have much respect for them. You're shooting is lights out from what I'm seeing in the pics. Glad the new bow has been a great fit.

My new Palmer Bow Works side/back quiver came yesterday. Pretty easy to use, very quiet, very comfortable...but I won't be wearing it on my back much. My plan is to strap it to the side of my pack, taking advantage of the molle strapping built into the quiver.

Unfortunately, I picked a bad night to shoot multiple arrows. I was shooting pretty well last night. The same arrow that got a Trad Vane torn up a few weeks back...got it again last night. (hard to see in the pic, top arrow)

I blitzed the apple (huge for an apple) on the first shot.

Then I got cocky and grabbed a discarded clementine. Lot smaller target.

I was getting pissed. About to throw in the towel. Then I skinned it.

Next shot the line was perfect and I skinned its ass.
