Stark County late season GIANT!!!!!!!!

I don't think any of us were implying this, I understand what you are saying, if a big buck is killed close to me, I like to know down to the spot where it was killed also, just out of pure curiosity as well. But there are guys out there that will literally "chase ghosts", the second they hear or see a trophy deer killed in an area they become hell bent to get in that specific area.

Oh ok sorry then I was under a false understanding that because I brought up the conversation topic that I was being portrayed as "that guy" so again I was just sort of trying to explain myself a little more.

Wasn't ganging up, just seems a little intrusive too be asking more than the county of harvest.... I always ask the county and stop there as where the General location (other than county) is irrelevant.... None of my business and if some one would pump for more info I'd just say it's outta stark county and leave it at that....

I'd be curious if it was killed in my county as well. Unfortunately, it is the internet. You ask. Someone else answers. A third and fourth and fifth party vulture in on the area, the next thing you know there are 30 people crowding an area that held a great buck that is already dead. Doesn't mean there are 15 more deer like that in the immediate area. Doesn't stop people from believing there are.

For ME personally, I would call a couple buddies in my area that know me. Might ask them simply out of curiosity. We could chit chat about it, and next year go back to hunting the same properties we always hunted. Over the internet. . . .Who knows what it does to that area.

boy i hope this deer wasnt killed off a cornpile that would horrible.
 
Now that is truley an amazing buck. If Ohio keeps it up with the massive trophy bucks, it will be hard for any of us to hunt good spots. I'm just waiting for even more landowners to not allow long time permission hunters to hunt without leasing or searching for those that will.

honestly this is all I want to know as well, I have a feeling it was on the edge of the suburbs somewhere. But when deer like this are killed in my home area, I am really nosey just because I have no idea how they can survive and grow so big in North West Ohio in small thin woods surround by corn fields.
 
Last winter this deer frequently ate from bird feeders and residential shrubs. Suburban area, some city property. Hard to believe he wasn't killed over a corn pile. I got a few 35 mm photos of him, gorgeous animal

Good genes and getting lucky 2 years in a row got the stark buck big, he was 170-180 last year, I knew it was a matter of time for him, more and more people started findin out about him. 7 more days and he would have made it. Didn't peak yet, next year he would have in my opinion- scary!

Most on here figured it was an urban deer.... Thanks for sharing.....
 
This thread made me sign up. But I know this story and might as well tell it about this deer to stop rumors.
This deer was 99.9% city raised and where he spent pretty much his whole life. Locals could literally drive by and watch this deer standing or laying in the middle of one of the many fields he wandered through! Didn't fear people or cars stopping and looking and was in an area he could NOT be hunted. And an area hard for him to be poached.(police actively in this area) which allowed him to grow big.
To me...idk who the guy is who shot him but there is no story no nothing coming from his "can" /himself.....so it makes a lot of us locals wonder how a deer that mature and Wiley in an area he knows he's safe gets shot with no story from an area no one can hunt.
Not accusing....just the buzz around town. Lots of ppl knew of this deer and his city home.
 
I wouldn't say he was an urban deer. He definitely had surrounding agriculture. Last winter was tough relatively speaking for Ohio deer, they were getting brave last year venturing close to homes eating anything green and eating from bird feeders. People were feeding them too. Suburban deer during parts of the year, still very wary deer to hunt
